Gender dysphoria describes the condition of feeling one's emotional and psychological identity as male, female, or non-binary to be opposite to one's biological sex. It involves a conflict between a person's perceived gender and the gender with which they identify. Gender dysphoria can contribute to a number of other psychological issues, most notably depression and anxiety. Treatment for gender dysphoria can include hormone replacement therapy or transgender related surgeries and procedures such as facial feminization, breast augmentation, and hair removal.
